Andrew Jackson Davis Sleep State Powers

Andrew Jackson Davis (11 August 1826 - 1910), was a spiritualist, he was born at Blooming Grove, New York.

He had not much education, although he and his friend enjoy pretending to have even less.

Development Of His Clairvoyant Powers

In 1843 attended lectures in Poughkeepsie on a term call animal magnetism, as another way of calling hypnotism which was use at that time, and came to the conclusion that he had great clairvoyant powers.

A friend William Livingston put Davis into a "magnetic sleep" and discovered that Davis in this state enabled him to give accurate diagnoses of diseases, because it would seem that the body was much clearer for him to read while he was in this deep sleep.

The following year Davis had, spiritual messages telling him of his life work.

Andrew Jackson Davis Magnetic Healing

For the next three years (1844-1847) he practiced magnetic healing with much success.

In 1847 he published "The Principles of Nature," "Her Divine Revelations," and a "Voice to Mankind," which in 1845 he had dictated while in a trance to his scribe(director), William Fishbough.

Andrew Jackson Davis was the first person to diagnose and prescribe cures for individuals while he was in a trance state, similar to the way the spirit guides give such advice through Francis Hosein while he is in a deep trance.
