I Ching
I Ching represent the book of changes that is designed to identify order in what seem like chance events. The principles of this way of thinking originated with the mythical Fu Hsi. He was one of the earliest legendary rulers of China. It is said that the eight trigrams (ba gua) have been revealed to him which later develop by Yu into sixty-four hexagrams. The philosophy centers on the ideas of the dynamic balance of opposites positive (yang) and negative (yin). This philosophy and way of life in the universe is at the heart of Chinese cultural beliefs. It is stated that this is also a form of divination. and have been use in the chinese culture for generations. Some westerners considers this as simply a form of divination with 64 hexagram with 6 lines each is a row of two, three line arrangements called trigrams. Each line shows movement which means change represented by the broken lines or a fixed state represented by the unbroken line that means unchanging. Within this philosophy lies the concept that everything complicated can be broken down to it's simplest parts, that everything is in a state of change, and that change is constant. The hexagram has evolve throught the ages and with each over thrown of the dynasty these hexagrams were revise and added to its new explanation. Confucius is said to have a big part to play in the explanation on what it has become today because of his philosophy and the way he viewed nature for this is how many of the symbols are interpreted.
